In this blog we will learn how to use Dashboard Builder in Salesforce. Dashboards are graphical interpretation/representation of reports in Salesforce. The use of dashboards provides data at-a-glance, which makes it more interactive for users.
Follow these easy steps to create dashboard for your reports for a quick glance.
Open the dashboard Builder
How to use Dashboard Builder in Salesforce
1) Go to Reports Tab.
2) Click on New Dashboard button.

Create your dashboard
1) Drag and drop component in preview pane.
2) Current user will be displayed in “View Dashboard as” field.
3) Once you have selected component click on the Data Source button beside it.
4) Select the report you want to view in the dashboard.
For Example:

You can save the dashboard now.
You have created a dashboard for viewing all leads and you want to view it more frequently. In this case you can view your dashboard on home page by following steps:
Step 1: Enable Dashboard Snapshot
1) Go to Setup > Customize > Home > Home Page Layouts. Click Edit.
2) Enable Dashboard Snapshot and click Next
3) Move Dashboard Snapshot to the top and Save.
Step 2: Select a dashboard to display
1) Go to My Settings > Display & Layout > Customize My Pages.
2) Select Home and click on Customize Page button.
3) You will find Search for a dashboard… Select a dashboard. For ex- I’ve Selected Lead Dashboard which displays lead according to status.
4) Save the dashboard. Save the customization.
5) Go to Home Page for output
